Well, talkin to the developer would be great!

And no, setting my profile to friends only or private is not an option
for me (and also for many others, im pretty sure)
What makes me wonder is, why can we choose what to recieve but not what
to send.
Besides that, i think valve could have told the users _before_ the
update to switch the profile to private if you dont want to send out all
that information.

The update news for the steam client only say:

/"Steam client update released <http://store.steampowered.com/news/1877/>
October 9, 2008, 10:43 am - Jason Ruymen - Steam Client Update
A Steam client update is now available. To apply the update, click the
File menu inside of Steam and then select "Check for Steam Client
Updates...". The specific changes include:

*Steam Client*

Added support for upcoming third-party game
"/
so...is Blotter essential for a third party game? I guess not :)

While googlin' for blotter i came across this message:
/
"You may find your steam client losing connection for a while. It would
appear Valve are adding additional Community features. So far the list
includes:/

    * /Redesigned Steam Community pages
      /
    * /Official groups
      /
    * /Blotter
      /
    * /User groups on separate page
      /
    * /Improved search
      /
    * /Events time is showed in your timezone
      /
    * /Profile status is changeable from home page
      /
    * /Games on profile page are counted/

/"/

Ive never seen that poping up @my own steam client.

Imho it would be nice to inform users _before_ making significant
changes / additions or let em deactivate the newly added "features".

Greetz, Max.

(Sorry in advance if im ranting a littl bit :D)
