I figured I'd tap the collective wisdom regarding the prevention of server
crashes. As it stands for 'John Q Rando', a number of us don't have the
resources to begin troubleshooting intermittent server crashes. Mani log
files and mini dumps can take you so far, but the logs show nothing and the
mini dump files require some variant of visual studio and some serious
expertise. When these fail, where do you turn?

Google hasn't been as helpful as I'd hoped.

For instance, your server crashes between every 24 and 36 hours. Nothing
malicious in the logs (no joker telling you he's about to DC the server) ,
no round changes, no real config or addon issues, just a plain ol' crash.
Nothing in event logs.

Where do you folks look first? How do you verify if someone is ddos'ing your
servers? I'm guessing there are monitors and utilities out there that can
track this stuff, but most of us wouldn't even know what to ask for or where
to look. Pretend your server is in a DC and has no extra services or strains
on the cpu/memory...

Anyone offer up a few ideas for the rest of us that may be in the dark?

Thanks in advance on belhalf of the halfwits ;)
