I should point out, that (for the record) we don't run fake players anymore as it really isn't an effective automatic way to grow a player base. Trust me, anyone who is running fake players is only hurting themselves, and nobody should be concerned. People who join an empty server make it a point to ignore that server in the future.
If there is already a built-in player population, that's slightly different.. But overall, I don't let the whole fake players issue concern me. If you've got a fun server, you're going to be popular.
