Make that 3 or 4 :) msleeper - we've had our differences in the past, so I hope you take this in a kind, tender way :)
The only way valve will prioritize a bug is when enough people complain about it. A bunch of us screamed bloody murder about that bug in TF2 - and with good reason. It wiped out entire servers of up to 32 players in one fell swoop. Our screaming got RESULTS while an astute minority (of which you were included) thought we were "stupid" for screaming about it in the first place. The complaining collectively gave us 2 solutions - one in the form of a SM plugin, and later one in the form of an official fix. Personally - I don't give a rat's posterior about L4D - It's Gauntlet with some polish (and a lot fewer quarters). But that doesn't mean you should trivialize a bug that wipes out all connections from a server. It's a SHOW STOPPING BUG that *NEEDS* to be fixed. There is absolutely nothing positive that can come from flinging sarcasm at those who identify a profound weakness in a product. What needs to happen in this case is the same thing that happened with TF2 - a fix of ANY sort. I'll now step down from my soapbox. But for those of you who are affected by this bug? Bitch on. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of msleeper Sent: Tuesday, July 21, 2009 9:11 PM To: Half-Life dedicated Win32 server mailing list Subject: Re: [hlds] Left 4 Dead Update Available The only consistent attribute of this bug is the same 2 or 3 people who keep bringing it up.
