The content is 40mb. There is a 40mb file in the steamapps dir called winui.gcf. It was created on my machine at around 9:30PM EDT last night. Opening it with a GCF editor shows a bunch of files related to the steam client itself.
It's probably nothing, though there are a few DLL and EXE files in there, if you want to poke around with them.
