When the UDP "connection" isn't working, it falls back to TCP. It could be trying to communicate on one of the TCP ports you have blocked and thus your issues.

I have all my servers on a single windows box, and anytime someone tries to connect, they get disconnected with the error "Disconnect: Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket." When the server is first restarted, a few players can connect but after a few minutes anyone else who tries to connect gets the above error (even people who are currently in server who reconnect). I looked in the firewall logs and saw that TCP port 27017 was blocked when the servers started so i opened that port. It fixed it for a few days but now the error is back even though that port is open. The ports i have open on the server are: TCP: 27015-27017, 27020-27039, 27033-27034 UDP: 27014, 27000-27016,27020 I also noticed that srcds.exe is sending data on TCP port 9652. I have that port blocked because my firewall logs were getting spammed with it and i was scared it was a hacker. Does that port have anything to do with Source DS? Is it safe to open it? Anyone have any idea's how to fix this? P.S. I know its not my client because i can connect to other servers fine, its just my servers that are doing this error. The error also occurs to other players (i tested with 2 people in my clan). _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds _______________________________________________ To unsubscribe, edit your list preferences, or view the list archives, please visit: http://list.valvesoftware.com/mailman/listinfo/hlds
