If I can recall correctly, -nomaster disables all server communication and
broadcasts. Why do you want to disable the master server if it's for a lan
game and sv_lan 1 is set? Anywho, just re-enable the master server and it
will all work fine (use setmaster if it's really that big of an issue).

This pertains to both HLDS_Windows and HLDS_Linux mailing lists, as well to
that HLDS_Linux is as dead as #hlserveradmins on GameSurge.
