The bigger question should be "why the heck am I replying to a digest email without trimming it?", or "why am I subscribed to a list in digest-mode, when the list doesn't usually get over 5 messages a day?" For real, if you chose digest mode, go and trim the message and change the subject to something related to the particular message you're replying to.
