I think you'd be surprised. We have a HUGE amount of bandwidth sucked up by replay every month.
On my (windows) servers, the replay "cleanup" system has never worked. I ended up using a 3rd party system run on a regular basis using task scheduler to clean up the old files. I just set it to delete anything in the target folders over two days old every time it runs.
