Hey guys, did some snooping on my servers and came up with the following information, I posted it to the steam forums and am re posting it here, hopefully we can get something out of this.
*"Hey everybody, Rowdy here with some information for you. This bug with the frequent client crashes is an annoying one, you'll be amazing how not fun it is for a server owner to keep a full server when everyone will crash at once and blame you. This is annoying, and I bet for the average player it must be fun to be in a great game then suddenly crash and return to a near empty server. This issue was discussed on the HLDS mailing list for a while and was met with a "fix" that only lessened the frequency, but this happening at all is still an issue. Long story short, my theory as to fix it? Download custom player models. See, I own and run 3 popular servers, and two of them will have this issue repeatedly, maybe a game a day at least. But our third? It only happens once in a blue moon. This particular server also features a mod where you can change your player model. I've noticed that the custom models don't attach cosmetic items very well, this may be an issue. Needless to say, try downloading different player models, maybe the HD versions, custom characters, what have you and look for a difference.
