It is time of the year for me to ramble again... Read if you like, do
not if you don't.
1. Please, when replying, be courteous and take a second to delete
the 40 posts below your reply. It makes the list in everyone's email
easier to read. At least it does for me and I am the center of the universe.
2. Ahh I see since the inception for the mailing list, it is time for
the yearly discussion of why and when Valve releases updates (yay,
thanks to whoever brought it up, we almost forgot).
Everyone opinion on the updating topic does not matter and once you
realize it, the mailing list community will dub you "Veteran mailing
list member" and you will get a TF2 hat and receive a badge in the
mail sent to your house (upon receipt of your urine sample, used for
for Jarate).
Valve is updating a game the masses play, and we should all be
grateful when where and how those updates come to us. I for one
sometimes pee a little. The end and settled.
3. Thank you Alfred for clarifying SteamCommand for us. It sheds some
light. Firstly, say Hi to Batman for me (he left one of his capes
here and my son won't quit running around the house and on occasion
my wife makes me where it to bed, so I would appreciate he coming to
get it. I also do not appreciate my son calling me "Fatman" so tell
him I said haha, very funny). Yay, it is fun to make fun of peoples
name..... Fletcher, Fletch.... Chevy Chase... Good times.... Vacation... Fun.
Next, I personally, although it is an inconvenience to log in with my
username and pw to the little program, I do not mind so much. My
issue with it is I have a few "Sr Admins" that have access to the
box. So I have to wipe the username and pw after the updating. This
puts a damper on my little update scripts. So that is my only
inconvenience at the time. With you going to anon login in the future
that addresses that issue for me.
HOWEVER, (you thought I was done talking didn't you..... Silly
you....) HOWEVER, I think it would be brilliant.... BRILLIANT I
SAY.... To FORCE community server operators such as ourselves to tie
the server download to an accountable account. That would be a good
way to start wiping out a lot of servers that are... Lets say,
unsavory... And you can collect even more personal data on us for the NWO.
This was discussed at this years at Bildererg (google it) meeting
betwixt Gabe and I and we think it is simply fabulous. Much like my
usage of betwixt. I would also like to say "akimbo".
