What game are you trying to host, exactly? 'Valve' is the base for running
mods, generally. If you want to, say, co-op Half-Life with some people,
there -is- a mod for that ("Sven Co-Op"). If you want to host a server for
Half-Life Death Match, that's certainly possible, too. But, assuming I'm
understanding you correctly, what you've described isn't -- You can't host
a 'half-life' server.
