If the players don't like it they won't player there. I don't see the problem here, players get to pick where they play if they don't like the ads they will leave. As others have already stated there are plenty of players who don't mind watching a short ad to help pay for server cost.
A lot of younger players don't have a way to donate money to servers so why not let them donate in this way?
