We will release the server and an optional client beta (not to be confused with the "Team Fortress 2 Beta", which is a different app) at the same time. This is what we have done for DoD, CS:S, and HL2:MP.
We will do that several days before we flip the switch and force all clients to switch to SteamPipe.
