It was added due to CSGO servers being most vulnerable during match
times to external attacks.

few patch notes ago that added a cvar cl_hideserverip which a
server owner or player hide their IP in the developer console whenever
someone types status, I was wondering why it was added to CSGO but not
any of the other source games from what I can see.
