Getting the ports to forward is something you will have to rangle with the router people, a wired router will give you the least amount of headaches. Server host's that run multiple instance's of server's on same box have big pipes and high end equip. some are ok but most are like a three legged dog or they will charge you for more resources. As for Steam, a dedicated server is stand alone and does not require steam to be running So I've had this issue for a fair while now where I'm trying to simply run multiple HLDS and SRCDS servers on one IP on different ports. The machine I am hosting is definitely capable of hosting multiple servers in matters of resource. The issue in question is having the servers 'connect to the steam servers' (snippet of the error). If the servers are not connected to Steam servers, there isn't any VAC and they will not show up on the internet list, however WILL show in favourites. I have tried opening all the servers (let's say 5 for instance, inc. HLDS and SRCDS), which then the last few servers would show the unable to connect to Steam error, then after closing a few servers the previous servers that were on would regain connection to Steam, and then lose connection again as soon as I open all the servers again. For months I've tried resolving this issue as I've seen hosting companies that provide game servers that have managed to host up over 10 SRCDS servers on the same IP with 10 ports without any issues. I've tried many different parameters and have also tried asking this question on multiple sources such as Steam forums and Steam support in extra detail. The thread can be found here if extra detail is needed: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3229826 I appreciate any responses to the greatest extent I receive regarding this issue and am hoping a solution can be made as surely it must be possible! Many thanks,Terrum. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
