I am sorry, I was looking at the wrong piece of code. For requesting server lists you just need to ask for the list, there is no challenge (challenges are for server heartbeats). When we restart a master server server numbers will go to zero briefly (for a second or less) and then it will rebuild to its steady state level within 6 minutes (the time between server heartbeats).

 

We can try to give prior warning but not all restarts are scheduled.

Do you have documentation for the challenge handshake? Where abouts do you put the challenge in the packet that you send to the master server?

Note that you will need to request a new challenge number from the master server because of this update (check for the string "Bad challenge." and "No challenge for your address." in the packets the server is returning).

Note that the master server can (and will) restart at any time, so you need to handle getting a new challenge number.
