I ran a 14 player server on (few, if any, lag issues): P3-500 128 mb ram 10 gig ide drive (not even ultraDMA!) T-1 line I currently run an 18 player server on (few, if any lag issues): Dual p3 - 500 256mb ram 2 x 20 gig scsi drives T-1 line So, my surmise is that if you have something better than, say, a p3 - 750 or so, and 128mb ram, and a reasonably fast disk system... You'll be fine. One caveat, both those servers ran Red Hat Linux v7.x... You may need more horsepower for a windows machine. I don't know for sure, though...never ran a windows based cs server :) One other note, it should be mentioned that your physical connection to the internet will have some bearing on performance. I had one of my servers on a hub, and it ran ok, then moved it to a switch, and users reported lag... I had to check the switch config and manually set 100mbps/Full Duplex on the switch... And the lag went away! Just an FYI for you.
