OK, I've been running this small DM server for a long time and have never had this problem. Using AdminMod I have set myself up in the users.ini file and created the adminpass.cfg file on my HL Client PC. This has been up and working for about the past 2+ years. I have a shortcut on my desktop that I always use to join my server. Tonight I was goofing around with GameSpy Arcade and I double clicked to join my server mistakenly (I meant to click the one directly below mine). So I'm like OK, np, I'll just sit here and let it load and it will kick me. Well, to my utmost surprise I did not get kicked. The game let me right in. I may have forgot to mention this. On the shortcut I use to join my own server I have "exec adminpass.cfg" in the command line. My adminpass.cfg file is not executed unless I join via this shortcut. So joining through GameSpy, or any other means, should kick me because I am using a reserved name w/o authenticating first. Here's the scary part. Not only can I join the game using a reserved name, but I can also execute AdminMod commands. All of this w/o authenticating myself to the server. PLEASE, does anyone have any clue as to why this could have suddenly begun happening.
