And the proof is in the cheaters remarks http://just4teens.de/ogc/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=10167
Sorry for posting that link but it proves a point. -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] On Behalf Of HoundDawg Sent: 14 August 2002 13:46 To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Cc: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Re: [hlds] RE: [hlds_linux] HACKERS ARE REEAAALLLYYY EVERYWHERE NOW!!! The Wallhack Block does work against all traditional wallhacks. The only wallhacks that currently get around this, are those cheats that utilize ESP/Soundhack features which place players based on the movement sounds. HLGuard won't be able to do much against this until it implements a good Soundhack Block. That's currently partially done. For the next release, the wallhack block has been redone with some new code that should eliminate flickering and vanishing players more. It will also introduce the first phase of the Speedhack Detection. There are many other changes to this next version including more cheat detections (yup, we're able to do more detections again) including some OGC detections. FYI, the aimbot detection feature in HLGuard seems to be working great against OGC aimbot users. We've noticed a lot of these aimbot users getting caught on servers that implement the aimbot detection within hlguard (off by default). So, you may want to enable this with the current version you're using now. Also, even UA-I reports have shown that cheating clans prefer playing on servers that aren't running HLGuard or have wallhack block and aimbot detections disabled (which can be easily tested). So, chances are, if you're not running HLGuard, your server is a prime open target. I would say that HLGuard is still functioning well as a server-side anti-cheat and is a great backup to the VAC for those cheats that bypass it (which are the new ones). As for the next HLGuard release, it's currently in internal testing. We're looking, hopefully, for a public release later this week or next week. I believe the new VAC against the latest OGC is due out around this time as well.
