No just a regular record demo on a player. I have recorded many a demo and this is the first time it only recorded the sounds in the game and the text from the console screen only!

This is a bug well known for demo recorders... seems that you can only record a demo on the first map when you join a server... if you feel abusive you can exwecclient retry on him, which will give you a good demo.
