ctrl-k, then H, will give you help. :-) for vi:
ZZ (quit and commit changes) [esc]:q (quit) [esc]:q! (quit immediately, even if i've made changes) [esc]:wq (write changes and quit) [esc]:wq! (write changes and quit, overriding permissions (as allowed)) VI is just an extension of the ed editor, (VIsual EDitor, see?) so it uses the same command structure. If you started using computer before full-screen capabilities, then ed would have been your first (or edlin, for dos) then VI becomes a very natural progression. > -----Original Message----- > From: Simon Garner [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] > Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2002 3:16 PM > To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > Subject: [hlds_linux] Re: [OT] Text editors > > > From: "Leif Sawyer" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > > > > > Word to the man!
