I have the same problem on my Win32 servers. Clients crashing with flashbang in hands. Running the hl-beta patch and ofcourse the new beta VAC-module. Will test more on my linux-servers to see if the problem is there too.

I've experienced no such crashes, or any crashes (well any more than usual with the Windows HLDS) to make me think the beta VAC is causing problems. The only thing I've noticed is the model displacement bug (where the CT/T models appear to be walking in air or halfway buried) is happening more frequently than it used to. Other than that it seems to work flawlessly. Note, this is for the Win32 HLDS server. I run my match servers on Linux, but haven't really played enough on them to see if there were any problems. Box configs are below: 20 Player AMD XP 1600+, 512mb RAM Windows 2000 Server SP3 HLDS 4.1.1.0b / CS 1.5 Beta VAC AM 2.50.26 LogD 1.00.4 StatsMe 2.6.4 32 player AMD XP 1800+, 512mb RAM Windows XP Pro SP1 Same config as above Just to reiterate, I've had no problems, client or server wise. I did have problems last beta with the WH, with the client crashes, but nothing this weekend, nor have I had any complaints in my forum as I did last beta. -----Original Message----- From: Eric Smith [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Friday, September 27, 2002 2:17 PM To: Half-Life Dedicated Server Mailing List; Half-Life Dedicated Linux Server Mailing List Cc: Erik Johnson; Leon Hartwig Subject: [hlds_linux] New Beta Security Modules -September 27 Importance: High We've updated the beta security modules. These beta security modules will be testing the OpenGL-hack prevention methods we've been experimenting with. 1) This beta test is only for Counter-Strike servers...not Day of Defeat. 2) The password for the beta security modules is still "vactest", so make sure you have... -testmodule vactest ...in your command line and restart your server. If you're already running with the beta security module password in your command line, your server should update itself. 3) We haven't heard of any problems with the beta server we've released. If you haven't already downloaded/installed it, you should consider doing so. The beta version should fix the problems some servers have been experiencing when we update the security modules. http://files.valve-erc.com/ login: server_beta pass: server_beta Let me know if you have any problems with the beta security modules and we'll look into them right away. Thanks.
