However I do agree with Deacon, wu is terrible and pure ftpd is much better and the ftpd I use. Pure can be found here http://www.pureftpd.org/ or to perhaps answer your original question you could consult http://www.landfield.com/wu-ftpd/ which is the wu-ftpd resource centre. I don't use wu so I can't answer your question off the top of my head.
