when I have time, ill try it out on my gentoo box, if alfred is right and it
needs some later versions of g++

dont have time though atm.  rebuilding one of my linux servers.  really odd
thing happened, I rebooted it the other day,and it didnt come back up.  Went
out to look at it today finally, and it seems half the files (so far) in
/usr/bin and /usr/lib are there, but arent.  I can see them in ls, but if I
ls -l them, it spews out various specific files do not exist.  really wierd.
Hopefully its not a hardware failure, but it sounds like it is.  doing a scp
backup using a gentoo livecd as we speak of important stuff.
