Peter, I don't know how long you've been on this list, but you should probably be aware that it runs in cycles, usually. And no, there is no form of control. Would you like to give up your day job to moderate these lists (including HLDS)? It's email. It's small, light, and simple. Delete it if you don't want it.
Yes, it'd be better if people were better in general, but the same people on these lists are the same people that cut you off on the freeway, pick their nose in the grocery store line in front of you, etc. Don't expect too much.

I see, that makes sense, but my point is more in the direction of, isn't it better to be making useful posts instead of devoting time to flaming other people? People that otherwise make sensible posts seem to degrade to a childish level. Just a shame, really.
I've been a member of the list for quite some time, but I'm more of a passive member :-)
Just hoping to see the level of the discussions improve again.
