Every now and then, my HLDS (linux) stops being able to write files to
the drive. I'm not sure why this is happening, and I know for certain
that it's not a permissions problem because it works fine when I
manually quit hlds and immediately restart it. Does anyone know why
this happens? It's already happened twice in the past two weeks.

When I quit, I also get this error showing that it cannot
access/write/create a file:

Creating HPAK /usr/games/hlds_l/cstrike/custom.hpk.
ERROR: couldn't open new .hpk, check access rights to
/usr/games/hlds_l/cstrike/custom.hpk.

Note that the error does not pertain to just the above file. When the
server is up, it cannot write to logfiles, etc, and outputs errors
stating such. Some of the errors come from plugins that want to write
to files. This happens rarely, but when it does, it seems no one can
play anymore.
