Since the message was about cheating, and not a memory/hardware issue,
my guess is it had nothing to do with the bad RAM detection.

If he had CD running at the time, VAC could have detected that as a
cheat and kicked him. The way CD works, VAC will see it as a 'cheat'.

Now, the reason why he was not banned/banned for long... although VAC
Does not tell *us* what cheat the person was detected for, it seems to
be able to tell and depending on the cheat, the length of the ban will
change. So, it's very possible that VAC detected his CD and did not
classify it as a serious cheat or whatever, and didnt ban him.

If he was using say OGC or something, it could have banned him for many
months.

Note: I have not tested any of the above, but it is what I have gathered
from reading these lists and other forums since VAC started.

Hey, but why is there a log message that he was detected cheating???

It should be something like "POSSIBLE cheating" if VAC is not shure.
Many Stats Programs parse the Logs for VAC Messages and if there is a
"...was detected cheating and dropped from the server." then HE IS a
cheater for these programs..with all the consequences for that player.

How can i distinguish between "Good" or "Wrong" ??
