I would say top is more reliable because ps -aux tells me that my BF1942
server with 30 players on it is only using 13%. On a Celeron 2Ghz I find
that somewhat unbelieveable... Top tells me it's using 66% which seems a lot
more realistic because if I pile the box up with 64 players it lags to hell
and ps -aux still only says it's at about 40% cpu.

Go with top in my opinion.

Cheers,

Subject: [hlds_linux] Top or ps

Does anyone know what I should trust:
Top says HLDS takes 90% of my Pentium IV CPU,
and ps -aux says only 30%. Which one is more reliable?
