I have 2 steam servers, or rather, was planning to have 2. 1 test server @ my home connection and 1 in a colocation where I've been running a 1.5 server for quite a while, and a 1.6beta server for a few months. So now I got myself the new linux steam client. The test server updated like a charm where as I can't even create an account from my colocation server, so I created an account for the colocation server off my home connection. Still, the update still does not work:
I can ping a server: -- [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/hlds_l$ ping 213.157.170.81 PING 213.157.170.81 (213.157.170.81): 56 octets data 64 octets from 213.157.170.81: icmp_seq=0 ttl=120 time=47.9 ms 64 octets from 213.157.170.81: icmp_seq=1 ttl=120 time=47.4 ms -- nmap can see an open port 27030: -- Nmap run completed -- 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 3 seconds [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/hlds_l$ nmap -p 27030 213.157.170.81 Starting nmap V. 3.00 ( www.insecure.org/nmap/ ) Interesting ports on (213.157.170.81): Port State Service 27030/tcp open unknown Nmap run completed -- 1 IP address (1 host up) scanned in 1 second -- And yet when I try to update all I get is: -- [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/hlds_l$ ./steam -update cstrike /opt/cstrike2/hlds_l [EMAIL PROTECTED] mypassword Y Checking bootstrapper version ... Getting version 0 of Steam HLDS Update Tool Connection Reset -- And yet, off my home connection it works like a charm. I just wasted about 4 hours that I could've spent sleeping. No, there is no firewall, no there are no ports blocked on the colocation's router (see nmap). Anybody got an idea? Cuz I'm getting well pissed about now. -- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Invader Zim | [EMAIL PROTECTED] | Counter Strike and web sites!
