that just means that it hasnt been able to talk to the won authentication
servers, so it wont be listed in the won server database i believe

Acutally ive got mine all working now..
Sounds bizarre, but I changed permissions back to 755 for all files, and its
starting up properly now...

Subject: [hlds_linux] DoD Server with 1.0b dod_i386.so

I've heard people recommend using the 1.0b dod_i386.so instead of the new
dod_i386.so that is broken.

Upon doing so, I get the following when I start up the server:

No auth servers parsed from }
Disabling Valve Authentication.
No masters parsed from valvecomm.lst
Using default master

I went to check out what the problem was with valve/valvecomm.lst and it
contains:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~/gs/hlds/valve$ cat valvecomm.lst
// Server Lists
//

Secure
{
        half-life.speakeasy-nyc.hlauth.net:27012
        half-life.speakeasy-sea.hlauth.net:27012
        half-life.speakeasy-chi.hlauth.net:27012
}

Not quite sure what is wrong with that and why it can't parse that file
properly...

Any ideas?
