No, I'm sorry. It looks like Valve restricts LAN games to the
original definition of a class C network, which would mean that
you actually have to use class C addresses. But I have never
tested it. A quick word from valve on this would be appreciated.

Once more, I setup several hlds_l servers (running CS1.3, then CS1.4, then CS1.5) on a class A network (it was 10.6.11.1/255.255.255.0).

We had clients from all over the network such as :
 . 10.6.202.x/255.255.255.0
 . 10.6.140.x/255.255.248.0
 . 10.7.x.x/255.255.0.0

And we _never_ add any "class C error". It justed worked nicely...

On big LAN parties, as far as I know, the servers and clients are not in
the same C subnet either.
