Its CPU-dependend. On AMD-machines it crashes, on Intel
it run. I have used the same files on both machines.
So, dont update on AMD-machines!

metamod 1.17, old hlds files on AMD works
metamod1.17, new hlds files on AMD crahes
metamod 1.17, new hlds files on Intel works

you need a different AMX version? (or use Admin Mod :)

AMX does it - and that's the only plugin I have.

Is there anyway of getting AMX to release some kind of update fast?

Try removing each plugin one at a time to see which one is
the cause of
the problem. MetaMod has a good backwards compatibility mechanism but
perhaps one of the addons is using it incorrectly.
