Exactly. If you want reliable communication, use a phone :) SMTP is fucked - the protocol relies on trust and things being done correctly - of which humans are terrible at both, thats why we have spammers. It was intented during a time where the only people using the Internet were universities and scientists. Sending and recieving a message and knowing it will get to it's destination without failure is an essential part of the Internet. I wonder what will replace SMTP.
