[hlds_linux] Re: Need help with gentoo and ip aliasing. Was "*sigh*"

I am trying to do ip aliasing in gentoo.  The configuration seems pretty
straight forward.  This is what I have in /etc/conf.d/net:
iface_eth0="69.56.175.164 netmask 255.255.255.0"
alias_eth0="69.56.175.165"
gateway="eth0/69.56.175.1"
ifconfig shows:

Looks good to me.  BUT, when its in this setup, people cant connect to
my server.  They get dropped with a:
L 03/29/2004 - 20:57:03: "|TC|-=fuctup=-<2><STEAM_ID_PENDING><>"
connected, address "209.30.87.34:27005"
Dropped |TC|-=fuctup=- from server
Reason:  Error verifying STEAM UserID Ticket(server was
unable to contact the authentication server, 27).
type of error.  What am I doing wrong?
