Your Right Mike and I apologize for blowing up. It is my own fault for
reading a list mailing when I was busy even though I knew it had about
99.9% chance of containing nothing of importance.

It was not that particular post that set me off. It is the endless
cumulation of absolute garbage day in and day out. Not long ago, if you got
two list mailings in one day there was no doubt something that needed
attention. Today the far more frequent mailings are full of questions that
are already answered in the readme file, questions that have been answered
twice a week for a year and questions that have nothing to do with running
a gameserver.

The point is that thinking people go find their answers and lazy people
just throw it out to a list instead. A person has to intuitively know there
is a command for searching files in Linux so why not Google for it and get
an immediate answer? Because they are lazy.

Not much better is the deluge of "Valve sucks because..." every single week
after the inevitable screwed up update. We all know their idea of beta
testing is a public steam release, what's new about that? If you update
immediately after a release you should expect this stuff by now and if you
think it is ever going to change you are naive. The posts identifying the
problems are important, the dozen or two after that just bashing Valve for
the obvious are not.

Rick
