Hi, Have you tried to copy the steam cache files to another steam installation (for example of a friend). I have no flatrate and just 64 kbit/s bandwidth, so I can't download the files. The copy of the cache files from counter-strike, half-life and some others work, but the copy of counter-strike source does NOT work. I hope, there's a fix because I also really want to play it ;) I did the following: 1. Started Steam, started preloading of cs:s. 2. Steam shutdown. 3. I replaced the three cache files. base source shared.gcf counter-strike source base content.gcf counter-strike source shared content.gcf 4. Started Steam, the start time is longer as usually. 5. It seems that Steam resets the files (0% loaded), but Game installed (without content).
any idea?
