So, tar doesn't do U (unlink), and it doesn't do it, because it's deprecated:
man tar: "--unlink Ignored, only accepted for compatibility with other tar implementations. tar always unlinks files before creating them."
So, I end up with LinuxHldsUpdateTool_9.pkg which contains steam bin, and when I manually extract the steam bin, it goes fine, but when I run the freshly unpacked steam, it goes into the same loop again. So.. eh.. *help* :)
