Couple things.

First, I really doubt there is a problem strictly related to thunderbird
CPU's.  Sounds like pebcak to me.  I could be 100% wrong.

Second, if a problem DID exist, it would be in their best interest to
fix it.  A Tbird isnt that old, and you have to keep in mind that not
everyone in every country is privileged enough to be running the latest
and greatest hardware.
