I run a 12 person private CS server on an AMD 850 with a gig of ram. With a barebones Gentoo Kernel she runs fine. (I'm currently using the latest 2.4, but I'm sure you'll notice far better performance with the 2.6) From what I know about DOD, it takes fewer resources than CS. So you should be in the clear.
