Uhm, call me stupid, but doesn't it use the same port as the clients
connect to now? I'm having success using rcon_address <serverip:port>...

Any chance you could post a sticky thread in the forums or add to the
FAQ what the standard Server.cfg, Autoexec.cfg and Start script/options
etc would look like for a source server.

Many of us Run multiple servers on one box so it would be nice to have
information posted on how to change the rcon_address port so we can rcon
the things please.
I have searched high and low and asked in the forums and this mail list
with no reply which could help me

My server runs fine I just cant rcon it and I know other's with the same
problem.

Thanks
Logan

I've tried to open also TCP/IP for the standard port (in my case 27025) and it seems that this is the right thing to do as when I try to use rcon I see counters of passed packets increase. The problem is that I still have no luck. In one forum I've read someting about the needing of specify also the IP of the server on the command line to make rcon work. I've not tested it yet hope that I'll be able to try it this evening. I'll let you know.

This is where I've found the infos

Im having exactly the same problem
I think its because in steam rcon uses port 27021 (I think) not the
standard port like 1.6 But I havent seen the correct command to set the

rcon,ip, port to the same as the server
Any help would be awesome

Subject: [hlds_linux] CS:S Ports & Firewall

Hi all, I've just turned on a CS:S server and i need some info. As the

server is behind a firewall i need some infos regarding the ports and
protocol that I need to PAT on the firewall. The server has been
started listening on the 27025 port. As for previouis vesion of CS I've

done PAT for UDP on port 27025 (outgoing traffic from server machine is

all NATted). The server is visible and players can join but it's not
possible to use rcon commands. I've read someting about natting also
TCP to 27025 (in my case) to make console work, is it right?

Looking at opened ports doing netstat I found the following used ports

from the server instance:

tcp 0 0
0.0.0.0:33909 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN
4626/srcds_amd
udp 0 0
0.0.0.0:27020 0.0.0.0:*
4626/srcds_amd
udp 0 0
0.0.0.0:27025 0.0.0.0:*
4626/srcds_amd
udp 0 0
0.0.0.0:27005 0.0.0.0:*
4626/srcds_amd

Someone knows what this ports are for and wich ones need to be
forwarded from the firewal to the server machine?

Thanks in advance
       Luca
