Not sure, but there've been a lot of people talking about the version of glibc you have to have is fairly recent. Blar, I should really learn the specifics of linux... right after they organise it.
Could be barking up the extremely wrong tree here tho, but you might like the post the version for the other dudes on the list to check.
Then again, it could just mean you don't have it installed. http://www.mkssoftware.com/docs/man1/uncompress.1.asp seems to label it as a tool :o
