You can only use 1 account per server, using the same account on
multiple machines at the same time WON'T work. Using the same account on
multiple machines at different times causes the various machines to be
logged out (only the most recently use machine remains logged in). This
means next time you update you must specify a password.

If you must use the same account on multiple machines and you know how
to make it not update at the same time then you can use the "-steampass
<password>" parameter to specify a password.

1. -steamuser and -steampass, with -autoupdate .. I always do it this
way.

2. I imagine its best to shut down but I have never had any problems
in the past if I did this. You could always just shutdown for five
minutes though, it won't hurt you in the long run.
