AFAIK it runs online with glibc 2.3 or higher. And there is no plan to release a version which supports glibc < 2.3.
I have still the same problem with an older version of glibc. I am just trying to upgrade my version. I hope it will works, but I am bearish, because it is the first time that I tried to update the glibc.
