On the five servers I updated today, I did not have this problem. Did you realize there were two updates released today?
Each update had a different 'steam.inf' file with the second update being a fix for the first. I don't see what your big problem is, the update process works fine except for the the few hiccups with the content servers. ----- Original Message ----- From: "wArgOd" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, February 17, 2005 10:16 PM Subject: Re: [hlds_linux] Steam Update released > yup. big hosters complaining. alligator tears for them. > > somebody at VALVe stuck that important steam.inf file back in the distro > list so "winders" hosters simply need to keep rerunning hlsupdate as > many times as it takes to get the magic files pulled down. > > windows.... sheesh.... > > Andrew Forsberg wrote: > >>But you understand what I mean quite obviously. :) >> >>Unfortunately this list all too often hots up with valve abuse when a >>few 'big providers' go and upgrade ALL of their servers only to find >>they've got a couple of show-stopping problems.
