Just add 'echo $$ > srcds_run.pid' in srcds_run script.. it will then output the pid of the current shell. (I always run bash2)
That works, but I wouldn't want to lose the edit if that file gets updated. I've already got a script that invokes srcds_run with my desired arguments, so I'll just drop its PID in a file like that.
