I will definately second the opinion on AMD. I transferred a superheroes
server over to an AMD64 2800+ and from my monitoring it so far i have seen
like 2-5% usage with 12+ people in it. Thats coming from a P4 2.8ghz 1mb
cache 800fsb. I have yet to test out some opterons.

Most people are going to tell you AMD is the better choice for HLDS and
SRCDS.  The newer P4's (and any Xeon) will far outperform any low end
comsumer CPU such as the Celeron primarily becuase of the larger cache.
  I don't personally agree with the comment on the FSB, I don't think it
makes that much difference.  But there is always one way to find out.
Just try it and see what happens.  And if you're going to buy new
hardware, go AMD.
