Fedora has been the only Linux distro that has ever had an issue with AMX. Try searching the forum, as I have seen sever posts regarding Fedora and solutions to various issues.
As AMX is pretty old now, I havnt spent any time trying to fix and advised customers to move upto AMXX as there 1.01 version works and seems stable.
Old? If you mean there have been no updates in some time, well AMX is a fairly polished product.
