Actually, on a switched LAN it would only cut down the traffic for the server port... And since SRCDS operates <2% of a 100Mbit connection with 30ppl, I doubt anyone will care. Also, I'm not sure what you mean by "lan operator." To me, thats just a guy with a switch, and I've never seen a switch that was anywhere close to being taxed, but then again, I don't use cheap switches (besides, cheap switches don't run IGMP, which is a prereq for Multicasting). As many people have said, multicast won't be used in the internet... As to your "believe me" statement, I have no idea what the senario is that you are talking about...
