As a follow-up to this, I have made the changes to my system yielding
wonderful results.
Compiled metamod and amxmodx from CVS, enabled kernel preempting,
vm.swappiness=0 in sysctl.conf, sys_ticrate 500, sv_maxupdaterate 100,
sv_maxrate 20000.
My server runs with average 50% cpu and 20% memory. Everyone is excited
about the amazing decrease in ping and increase in overall performance.
